EIC Scaling Club: Spotlight on the DeepTech Alliance: Q&A with Alliance Manager, Thomas Klem Andersen
Thomas Klem Andersen
In a recent interview with the EIC Scaling Club, Thomas Klem Andersen, the Alliance Manager of the DeepTech Alliance, shared insights about the consortium’s mission and operations. Established as a response to the fragmented European market, the DeepTech Alliance aims to bolster the success of deep tech ventures across Europe by facilitating access to international markets and funding opportunities. The Alliance, closely associated with leading European technical universities, supports over 6,500 European deep tech startups annually, focusing on those based on significant scientific advances.
Thomas elaborated on the selection process, emphasizing that only a fraction of these startups are directly engaged in their local programs, with the most promising ones being chosen for the Alliance’s joint programs.
Thomas also highlights the importance of cross-border connections to provide startups with vital opportunities for co-innovation and investment, ultimately aiming to protect European tech sovereignty against the lure of more attractive markets like the US.
